Amy Harutunian, MS, AMFT

Amy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT156537) at OC Counseling, working with teens, individuals, couples, and families through both in-person and virtual sessions. Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Northridge, and her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California.

Growing up as a competitive athlete, Amy learned early on the value of discipline, resilience, and teamwork. She played collegiate volleyball and later transitioned into coaching, mentoring, and training young athletes—an experience that gave her deep insight into the connection between mindset, confidence, and performance. For Amy, athletics provided more than competition; it created identity, community, and motivation that continues to inspire her approach as a therapist and a performance mindset coach.

In her clinical work, Amy has provided therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and personality challenges, utilizing psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and client-centered approaches. She is passionate about empowering her clients to develop coping skills, practice mindfulness, and embrace personal growth. Her background as both a therapist and a coach uniquely position her to motivate and encourage clients to build resilience, pursue their goals, and overcome obstacles.

Amy has served in various leadership and mentorship roles, including as a student representative at Vanguard University and a group facilitator at Common Ground Ministry. She has also been active in the nonprofit sector, coaching youth volleyball through Homenetmen Massis, where she fostered a supportive environment for athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Amy operates with warmth, authenticity, and a motivating spirit, believing that lasting change happens through connection, encouragement, and a focus on each client’s strengths. She strives to meet her clients where they are—walking with them through challenges and helping them find confidence, clarity, and hope for the future.
